Condos in Cooksville

Cooksville Neighbourhood

In the heart of Mississauga is the quaint neighbourhood of Cooksville. This charming neighbourhood is located to the west of Applewood, south of Square One, north of Mineola, and to the east of Erindale, so residents in a Cooksville condo will have access to many of the amenities available to Mississauga residents, as well as connections to Toronto and the rest of the GTA. There is a Cooksville GO transit line so that you can head into downtown Toronto in a matter of minutes. So while you may be a little isolated in Cooksville, you are never too far from where you need to go.

There are so many perks living in Cooksville, and one of them is its convenience. Since you are in the heart of Mississauga, you have access to virtually anything that you would need. From shopping in Square One to transit, grocery stores, businesses, and schools, Cooksville residents are reasonably comfortable! It also holds on to a bit of the past, and many of the residents here in Cooksville hold on to their older builds rather than demolishing and building new ones. This means that many of the surrounding buildings will feature red-brick or historical features, feeling a bit nostalgic and slow-paced.

Many of the suburbs in Cooksville come at a steep price, but that’s because they are larger single-family detached homes. So if you want to stick to a reasonable budget, you could always opt for a condo! Condos in this area are still relatively modern, and residents will have access to modern amenities like indoor pools, social sites, patios and lounge spaces, and indoor fitness centres.

Cooksville residents get to explore quite a diverse neighbourhood. Many older immigrants settled in Cooksville, so you’ll find a plethora of culture, dining, entertainment, and social spaces. Cooksville was settled in 1819 by its namesake James Cook, an entrepreneur who worked a stagecoach business. The town became a popular stopover in its hey-days, and it’s no surprise that residents still find comfort in this urban community.

Nowadays, you’ll find shopping plazas, townhomes, apartments, and sub-divisions. There’s a mixture of everything! This area is known as “The 5 and 10” and “The Four Corners” because of Cooksville’s central intersection of Hurontario and Dundas Street. The accessibility of this major intersection and the transit options mentioned above means that Cooksville is great for commuters. This is more affordable than many of the gentrified Toronto condos and Mississauga hot spots.

Cooksville residents have plenty of options for recreation and arts, as well. Cooksville is home to the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga, home to programs for children and adults. There is also the Huron Park Community Centre, home to a full-size gymnasium, banquet facility, splash pad, leisure trails, and outdoor volleyball court! There is an event plaza for special community gatherings, green spaces, and trails to walk. You might also be interested in the Credit Valley Tennis Club, a place where you can socialize and stay active with your new Cooksville neighbours!

Cooksville is exceptionally walkable, extremely bike-friendly, affordable, with excellent public transit, excellent green space, and a good deal of recreation options. The public works are built up with a convenient hospital, shopping mall, and a highway, all within 10 minutes or less. It’s no wonder that Cooksville residents continue to choose this thriving community over others!

Commuter’s Dream

While there are many festivals, street fairs, and restaurants in Cooksville, one of the city’s biggest draws is its convenience. Honestly, commuting to work is no fun for anyone. However, a home in Cooksville puts you a stones-throw from the thriving hubs of Mississauga, Port Credit, Square One, and Toronto!

With its own GO train stop, residents in and around Cooksville are at ease far more than their neighbours. This is because residents can still keep their jobs in the city without having to bother with traffic. Residents also take the trade-off of having more affordable real estate to continue to enjoy the better things in life like hanging out with friends and family, recreation, entertainment, and travel!

The Cooksville GO train stop is located at 3210 Hurontario Street. It is steps away from the main Hurontario and Dundas street intersection, which connects to transit throughout the city. You can get to anywhere that you need to go in a matter of minutes. Depending on how you prefer to travel, you can take the GO bus or the Milton line, which is part of the GO expansion project. Experience a completely modern train stop on your way to work!

Restaurants and Nightlife

Living in Cooksville will put you at ease. Naturally, this means that Cooksville condo residents won’t have access to amenities like Toronto’s Entertainment District (and for some, this is a good thing!). Luckily, there are several fine dining options, as well as high-quality restaurants and even some nightlife.

For quick eats, you’ve got spots like Tim Horton’s, BarBQ Tonite, and ThirsTEA. Of course, if you’d like to sit down, then you might want to try these highly-rated spots:

For entertaining, we highly recommend The Studio Paint Bar, perfect for painting, drinks, and socializing! Cooksville locals also have access to the nearby Rec Room, where you can get your game on and play after a long work week. If you’re into it, there’s the High Zone Karaoke Bar and Restaurant, always a crowd favourite. And then there’s The Wave Bar and Lounge nearby for sports night. Locals love Coopers Pub, a large Irish pub which serves excellent wings and of course Guinness. If I had to pick a favourite pub in this area… not sure that I can!

Cooksville is close to Port Credit, Mississauga, and is only a transit ride away from Toronto, so really the GTA is your oyster!
