Located north of North York, Newtonbrook encapsulates the borders of Finch Avenue East, Bathurst Street, Steeles Avenue East, and Bayview Avenue. This moderately sized community is home to a thriving suburb, plenty of nearby greenspaces, and growing community involvement. If you’re interested in still being in the GTA, close to friends, family, and work, then we highly recommend a condo in the Newtonbrook neighbourhood.
Newtonbrook has long been a place where Toronto-locals go. This neighbourhood was initially settled as its own municipality in the early 1800s, and it operated along the branches of the Don River. Newtonbrook is now a largely residential town, and there are many conveniences available to residents for this reason. If you live in Newtonbrook, you don’t really have to go far for your everyday necessities. And if you do, you always have access to convenient transit for the times when you just don’t feel like driving.
Newtonbrook is situated between the east and west branches of the Don River Valley, which means that this neighbourhood is ideal for beauty. Residents will feel utterly relaxed and will enjoy exploring nature in and around their Newtonbrook home. Newtonbrook has a range of residentials to offer. From split-levels to bungalows and custom homes, residents can choose their dream home. Many of the luxury condos are located along the stretch of Steeles Avenue. But there are new developments along Bayview as well and high-rise apartments and condos along Bathurst Street.
Like many of the surrounding GTA neighbourhoods, Newtonbrook offers residents a touch of the urban lifestyle, being so close to Toronto and all while providing so many amenities. And, because families can settle in Newtonbrook and explore what it offers, these amenities are plentiful.
We recommend Newtonbrook to anyone who loves to be active. The neighbourhood has prioritized parks and natural green spaces so that residents can explore and stay active and healthy, even in an urban environment. And as we’ll get to later, residents have much quicker access to nearby green spaces, including Provincial Parks and National and Urban Parks. Close by, though, residents will enjoy around twenty neighbourhood parks, including children’s playgrounds, tennis courts, sports fields, fitness trails, baseball diamonds, and shady areas.
There are indoor recreational facilities as well, with two community centres and four indoor ice rinks. Locals love the Cummer Park Fitness Centre, which provides access to squash, racquetball, fitness class, indoor walking/jogging track, weight rooms, outdoor tennis courts, whirlpools, and sauna. Another location, Esther Shiner Stadium, is home to a track and field for larger sports competitions.
Super convenient to Newtonbrook condos owners is the access to the University-Spadina subway line. Any home that can access the subway is top-notch in our books. The subway is high-speed, safe, affordable, and reliable. Living in other neighbourhoods, you may find yourself relying on annoying train schedules or being forced to drive your vehicle to commute. Not with the subway! With the University-Spadina-Yonge subway line access at the Newtonbrook and Finch stop, you will find commuting to work is a breeze!
As we mentioned, all this convenience, accessibility, and access to green spaces will make all the differences. Consider living in Newtonbrook as having your head over the clouds. And you get the best of both worlds! Newtonbrook is very walkable and has good public transit. Residents find that this area is moderately affordable and has a fair amount of green space and recreation.
For convenience, Newtonbrook residents can go shopping at the CentrePoint Mall, conveniently located at Yonge Street and Steeles Avenue. This shopping mall puts the world at Newtonbrook residents’ fingertips. This indoor shopping mall features two sizable national department stores, family dining, and a grocery store. More than just retail shopping is the amount of amenities available for additional shopping. With shopping plazas, restaurants, cafes, fast food joints, specialty shops, furniture stores, and so much more, Newtonbrook residents know that they can get everything that they need in their neighbourhood!
One of the biggest draws to living in this vibrant community is its access to greens space! Since Newtonbrook is just north of the city, residents have unprecedented access to thousands of kilometres of beautiful trails, nature, and outdoors, all while being just outside of the city hub!
Residents here will love:
Newtonbrook also has hand-curated trails at Newtonbrook Creek Park. In addition to access to over 20 parks, Newtonbrook residents can explore the Don Valley Creek parkway, which leads residents down to the extensive path network that makes up one of the Torontos’ largest urban green spaces.
Newtonbrook condos have something for everyone. From luxury condos to timeless staples, you’ll have a range of options to choose from.
