Condos in High Park

High Park Condos For Sale

Just north of Toronto’s largest outdoor space is the neighborhood of High Park. It is here where you’ll find a very calming, small town feeling where the streets are lined with shops, vendors, and outdoor activities in the summer. There are quite a few communities surrounding High Park, officially we can consider the areas immediately to the North and East “High Park”, where Swansea Village is to the west, and Roncesvalles to the south of Bloor. The High Park community which resides to the north of the park, sometimes referred to simply as High Park North is mainly a residential area of low rises, and semi-detached homes built in the early 20th century. North of High Park, the neighbourhood has several high-rise apartment buildings, built after the construction of the Bloor-Danforth subway. Condos for sale in High Park began rising in popularity after the subway construction and integration of the streetcar into downtown.

So why live here?  Pretty simple.  It’s a fantastic, long-lasting neighborhood with a 400 acre greenspace, mixed recreational and natural park. High Park has been, and will continue to be a huge provincial attraction with sporting facilities, cultural facilities, educational facilities, gardens, playgrounds and even a zoo. The more than 400 acre High Park was opened to the public in 1876 and has been a staple piece of not only Toronto, but Ontario as millions of people each year visit the park and surrounding neighborhoods. This amount of traffic to the community is a fundamental source of income to the community as well as simultaneously making real estate in this neighborhood a very good investment. Due to the popularity of the park, the city of Toronto is very invested in maintaining the streets, public transportation, and overall demeanor of the community. This also means that the community living here is held to a higher standard and residents of High Park definitely enjoy the prestige that comes with calling this area home!

Living in a High Park Condo

Anyone looking at High Park condos for sale most likely loves the outdoors, and rightfully so. Off leash dog parks, tranquil trails and 100+ year old trees are just some of the amenities that will become part of your daily life while living here. Join thousands of visitors who come every Spring for the seasonal cherry tree blossom, or indulge in a spontaneous park picnic after you discover some of the more hidden areas of the park! Really the outdoor options are endless here. There is of course more to the area than just the park. High Park itself takes on the characteristics of a very modest urban living center, incorporating loft-style and mid-rise towers with a few newer developments that exceed 30 storeys and come with the full luxury amenity package one can expect in the heart of downtown. High Park condos truly offer one of the most centralized locations in Toronto. You’re almost exactly in the center of the city, while maintaining a southern enough location to commute into downtown a variety of ways — being minutes from the Gardiner expressway, High Park eastbound platform, street cars, and the bus.

If you’re looking at High Park condos for sale you most likely already know about the neighboring communities of Bloor West Village and the revitalized Junction area of Toronto. Living in a High Park condo, in my opinion, is one of the greatest areas to enjoy everything else around you, while being able to relax at home outside of all the noise. Bloor West village would be my first recommendation to anyone who purchases their High Park condo. It is one of the longest standing street retail shopping experiences in Toronto that you can experience. A seemingly endless supply of stores, shops, restaurants, cafes, totalling more than 400 businesses along the Bloor strip. I will do my best and highlight some of the go-to places you must experience once you move in!

Fine Dining & Things To Do In High Park

Aztec’s Mine is a Mexican inspired menu of tacos and craft beers. A small patio fronting on Bloor Street makes for a perfect summer spot. There are a couple amazing wood oven pizza spots in the area, starting with an absolute classic — Annette Food Market. Enjoy rare wines, Italian cocktails, and sourdough pizza’s here. If you want a little more modern experience, Goodfella’s Wood Oven Pizza at Old Mill offers a similar experience, however, not as authentic! Rounding out the list are a couple very well known Pub’s that also have a fantastic kitchen; Bryden’s & Whelan’ s Gate both will become the more of a “go to” spot for a meal, date, or place to watch a game.

When looking for a High Park condo for sale, this also means searching for some hidden gems. Perfectly situated in the community is the Cheese Boutique; a large store that offers an incredible one of a kind experience. Here you’ll find some of the longest-aging wheels of cheese on Earth. From the world’s largest log of Provolone at 864 lb., to a wheel of Parmigiano that has been aging since 2002. The ever popular Bloor Jane Restaurant is a staple in the area, featuring the Toronto Maple Leafs logo on their storefront. Everyone knows it and has been at least once, and unlike the Leafs, this diner’s meal will not let you down!

Those looking for a High Park condo will enjoy a wide variety of styles and layouts. As mentioned, newer developments offer the downtown style skyrise with hotel-like amenities, large layouts, and low maintenance fees. Along with those condos, High Park condos also include low-rise buildings and even buildings with exclusive loft layouts.

High Park Condos – The Culture

Enjoying the surrounding West End neighborhoods of Bloor West and Swansea Village is a fantastic bonus to living in High Park. But what else can you do? Besides High Park itself, you will indulge yourself in things like

Living in High Park will be a very engaging and social experience as the outdoors will most likely be an important part of your everyday life. You can quite literally walk from your condo, through the entire park, and end up at the Sunnyside Beach on the southern side of the park. It is a unique experience exclusive to this side of town, reminiscent or comparable to that of New York’s central park. It is a vibrant, exciting part of town that many people travel to, just to get away from their everyday life! It’s the park in the city, a place to relax yet enjoy countless different activities and foods, an engaging place to socialize with new people everyday while offering the peaceful quietness of nature. To this day I’ve yet to meet anyone regretting their High Park condo purchase, and I doubt that day will come anytime soon.
